I made it to NYC in one piece. I'd was actually a really easy trip.
My flight was a bit late and I didn't get to my friend's place until about midnight. Regardless Brittain has been a super host and we ended up playing instruments and talking until 2 am.
I'm going to try to get up early to join her for bagels before she heads to work. Then I'll be off to do some shopping and siteseeing.

Another page turner
So this is my 3rd or 4th attempt at keeping a blog. Once again, it has been prompted by a European vacation. I will, in earnest, attempt to document the trip with photos and words. This time I have new gadgets that should facilitate this exercise.
I'm newly unemployed and working on keeping those unemployment checks coming. This means I need to upgrade my resume and keep applying for jobs while I'm on the road. This may not be possible from the road ... I've found that it's hard enough to do in the comfort of your own home. Wish me luck.
I have to figure out what to bring on this trip. I'll probably pack some solid basics and buy some new clothes during the first leg of my 18-day trip.
I'll be in New York from October 3rd to 7th, visiting my Brooklyn/Williamsburg friends and picking up new jeans that fit! From there I'm flying to Lyon to see my friends' new baby and to celebrate the first anniversary of Jean-Michel and Cindy's marriage. Which reminds me that I need to finish up transferring the wedding tape to DVD ... so I should get to that now! I'll keep you posted.
