Day Three: Coeur d'Alene

We were scheduled to play at Calypsos Coffee in Coeur d'Alene on Sunday evening and we stayed with Brittain's grandparents for the night. Her family's place is so comfortable and it has a spectacular view that overlooks Lake Coeur d'Alene.

I took the picture above while Brittain was tuning her mountain dulcimer on the porch. It was our 2nd chance to rehearse on this tour. We haven't played together much yet, so there were still a couple of rough patches to work out in our set. Also, we were the only act playing Calypsos that night, so Brittain taught me a new song to fill out our repertoire.

Calypsos is a relatively new business and they have a great space. Unfortunately, the papers listed the show for the wrong night and there was no other promotion for the event. We played the set to the small audience and had a great time all the same.

Hi!

That's too bad that the paper didn't have the right date, but it sounds like it was a good night anyway.

next time you perform in Coeur d'Alene, it'd be awesome if you could drop an email by me, stan@29kproductions.com and I'll get an announcement about your performance up on our website.

We're also a relatively new business (thus this shamelessly self-promoting comment :) ) and we're working to get word out about Coeur d'Alene's art scene.

One of the things we're doing is a video all about the Coeur d'Alene area and the various events that go on year-round here. We'd love input from everyone we can get it from about what you like (or even dislike) about Coeur d'Alene. The more we learn what people notice about the area, the better product we'll be able to produce for the city.

And definitely let me know when you stop by the area again. Hopefully we can work up a little more promotion for you guys and we'll make sure people know the correct date for your performance. ;)

Good luck out there!

Cheers,

Stan
